Frequently Asked Questions

Do you offer free estimates?

No.
We begin every project with a Build Readiness Consultation, followed by a structured pre-construction planning phase. This allows us to evaluate land, design, and scope before discussing detailed pricing.
This approach protects our clients from surprises and ensures clarity before commitment.

What price range do you typically work in?

Our custom homes typically begin at $1 million and above, depending on land conditions, design complexity, and finishes.
Mountain construction involves variables that cannot be responsibly priced without proper planning, which is why we do not provide ballpark estimates upfront.

Do you build on steep or complex lots?

Yes.
Western North Carolina is known for challenging terrain, and many of our homes are built on sloped, view-oriented, or otherwise complex sites. We account for access, grading, drainage, utilities, and site integration early in the process.

How many homes do you build each year?

We intentionally limit the number of homes we build annually.
This allows us to remain highly involved, responsive, and detail-focused throughout the entire build process.

Do you work with my architect or designer?

Absolutely.
We collaborate closely with architects and designers selected by our clients and can also provide referrals if needed. Early collaboration ensures designs are both beautiful and buildable.

When do you provide final pricing?

Final construction pricing is provided after sufficient design development and pre-construction planning.
This ensures that pricing reflects the actual scope of work and reduces the risk of costly changes later.

How long does the custom home process take?

Timelines vary based on design complexity, permitting, and site conditions.
As a general guide:
  • Design & pre-construction: several months
  • Construction: 8–12+ months for mountain homes
We discuss timeline expectations early and update them as planning progresses.

Do you build second homes or legacy properties?

Yes.
We frequently work with clients building second homes, vacation residences, and legacy properties intended to be enjoyed for generations.

Can you help evaluate land before we purchase?

Yes.
Land evaluation is often part of our pre-construction services and can provide valuable insight before a purchase decision is finalized.

Are you a good fit if we want to move quickly?

We prioritize thoughtful planning over speed.
If your primary goal is to move as fast as possible, we may not be the best fit. If your goal is a well-planned, well-executed home with fewer surprises, we may align well.

What is the first step?

The first step is a Build Readiness Consultation.
This private conversation allows us to understand your goals, review your land (if owned), and determine whether moving forward together makes sense.
